Delicious Recipes

Please enjoy some of my favorite recipes! I know how important it is to keep your menus varied and interesting. But sometimes it's hard to come up with creative ideas, especially if you're someone who doesn't absolutely love to cook! That's why I'm sharing some great recipes with you. We invite you to make your own SCD cookbook by printing them and assembling them in a notebook!

My mom is a great cook, and she has been scouring books, websites, and magazines for excellent recipes and then, using her experience cooking for me, is adapting them to the SCD. Thanks to her, the recipe categories are full of new and interesting recipes, so be sure to come back again to enjoy them all! She has also been spending hundreds of hours creating our new magazines which are loaded with new recipes and include photos of each one!

Under "Menus to Get You Started" we have provided three weekly menus which include specific, detailed menus for each meal of the day. When you are starting the diet, this will be a great help so you won't have to guess what to eat next. Of course, it is important to follow the instructions in "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" by Elaine Gottschall first, especially the section about the Intro Diet, which must be done before you begin these menus. Click here for a description of the Intro Diet. Also, avoid any foods on the menus that might irritate your stomach as you begin the healing process. A good way to keep track of foods that you are sensitive to is to keep a food journal, in which you write everything you ate each day. If you have any flare-ups or symptoms you can go back and refer to what you ate and find the pattern. As you heal, you can try those foods again and see if you are still sensitive to them. Read "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" for more information on which foods beginners on the diet would be wise to avoid.

In addition to these menus, check out the Appetizers, Breakfast, Beverages, What's For Lunch?, Soups, Main Dishes, Salads, Desserts, Snacks, Kids, Parties and Holiday sections! You're sure to find some inspiration within each of these categories.

Do you have a recipe you'd like to share? Please feel free to submit it to me for consideration by clicking the "Need Encouragement or Have Questions?" link. I'd love to hear your ideas!

Enjoy!
